In addition, since becoming a Pathway Designated Facility, Ascension Seton Williamson has started the push towards other important awards and designations such as Baldrigdge, Beacon and ultimately Magnet. Because of this opportunity to attend the 2021 national conference, these same nurses have helped revamp and reinvigorate Ascension Seton Williamson’s Shared Governance team and have developed a new focus on nurse wellness and engagement. These nurses and leaders had the opportunity to celebrate their success, but also to network and learn fresh new ideas and innovations. “We applaud their hard work every day to ensure our patients receive quality care.”Īscension Seton Williamson sent 14 nurses and leaders to the ANCC Magnet/Pathway conference in November 2021 to celebrate the hospital’s Pathway designation. “We are so proud of the dedication of our nurses, especially through challenges faced throughout the coronavirus pandemic,” said Angela Wright, PhD, RN, MBA, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer at Ascension Seton Williamson. Ascension Seton Williamson is located at 201 Seton Parkway in Round Rock where virtual and in-person visits are available. Watching the team come together during the pathway’s application was inspiring and receiving the call from ANCC announcing the organization’s designation was empowering. With all of the struggles that nurses faced during the first year of the pandemic, leadership really had to take a step back and look at all of the good things Ascension Seton Williamsons’ nurses had accomplished. Instead of pushing back its pathways application, Ascension Seton Williamson’s leadership felt it was important to move forward and to demonstrate all of its nurses’ outstanding work and the culture they had cultivated. The pathways designation was especially important to Ascension Seton Williamson because the hospital achieved this major milestone in the middle of the pandemic.
